MetATS is a follow up of pioneering OptMet project. The general objective is to improve the air traffic system, in terms of efficiency and safety, by integrating improved weather information, and in particular improved weather prediction uncertainty. Several post-processing techniques of meteo information and several air traffic problems (both at the trajectory scale and at the traffic scale) will be addressed in the project, and the benefits of the integration of the improved meteorological data will be assessed.
